About Us

Basic Cycle is owned and operated by Dennis and Wanda Akin who were both raised in Carroll County.  Their shop is located two miles south of Carrollton on US Highway 27.

They base their business on the values the public looks for when searching for a competent shop to service their bikes. They understand how difficult it is to find a shop that customers can afford, can trust, and is convenient for them.

There has been a huge surge of motorcycle enthusiasts across the nation in the past few years.  With that in mind, they hope to fill a need where West Georgia and East Alabama residents can take their bike, where tires, oil changes, and accessories can be purchased at a cost the local community can afford.

Their new shop has been a lifelong dream.  From the age of fifteen, Dennis has owned five motorcycles.  His current bike is a 2003 Anniversary Edition Harley Electra Glide Classic which they enjoy riding with friends on weekend trips, bike shows, charity rides, and just to ride.

While looking for accessories, tires, and service to meet their own needs, they discovered there were a limited number of shops in the West Georgia area.  Taking into account the shape of the airline industry, Dennis decided he could apply his twenty-nine year aircraft mechanic experience to his love of motorcycles.
